My steps aren’t syncing or counting. What should I check first?
First check that your steps are in your watch’s app, Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). YuMuuv only reads from there, so if they’re missing there, the problem is between your device and that app.
All answers
- Apple Health is connected, but my steps aren’t showing YuMuuv is usually connected but not allowed to read your steps. Turn on Steps and Walking + Running Distance for YuMuuv in your iPhone’s Health settings, then open YuMuuv and tap Update your data.
- I connected Health Connect, but my steps don’t show Health Connect doesn’t count steps itself. The app that counts your steps, such as Samsung Health, must write them to Health Connect, and YuMuuv must be allowed to read them.
- My Garmin isn’t syncing Check your watch has synced to the Garmin Connect app, then check YuMuuv is a connected app there with data sharing on.
- My Polar isn’t syncing Sync your watch with Polar Flow, then wait. Polar sends your data to YuMuuv about once an hour.
- My Suunto isn’t syncing Check the Suunto app shows your activity, then connect Suunto again under Change integration if YuMuuv stopped receiving data.
- Why do my steps only update when I open the app? Apple Health and Health Connect keep your data on your phone, so YuMuuv can only collect it when you open the app. Open it at least once a day.
- The app is down or slow. Will I lose my steps? No. Your activity stays in your watch app, Apple Health or Health Connect and syncs when YuMuuv works again.
- My Zwift, Peloton or Strava workout is in Garmin Connect but not in YuMuuv Garmin doesn’t pass on workouts that other apps send to Garmin Connect, so YuMuuv never receives them.
- My steps are counted twice or are much higher than my watch shows Two apps or devices probably send steps for the same day, for example your phone and your watch. Keep one main step source, then send support a screenshot to fix the days already counted.
- My steps in YuMuuv don’t match my watch, ring or phone YuMuuv shows the steps your integration sends, so compare with Apple Health, Health Connect or your watch’s app first. A difference usually means steps went missing or were counted twice on the way.
- One day’s steps are missing or showed up on the next day Usually the day is just late. Let your device’s app sync, then open YuMuuv and tap Update your data; steps saved in Apple Health or Health Connect still come through.
