How Qualifacts Boosted Employee Wellness with YuMuuv

Background

Qualifacts, a leading behavioral health EHR provider, supports employees across the US, Canada, India, and Peru. With a strong internal push for engagement and well-being, the company wanted to try something new that would be both easy to implement and widely accessible: a wellness challenge.

Senior Employee Engagement Specialist Shauna Jamison and Benefits Consultant Lynn Traini spearheaded the initiative. Their goal was simple: inspire movement across their global teams through a light-touch, inclusive challenge that encouraged daily physical activity—without focusing solely on steps.

The Initiative: "Get Moving" Challenge

After researching platforms, the team selected YuMuuv for its simple UX, global accessibility, and easy admin setup. The challenge was intentionally branded as a "Get Moving" initiative rather than a step challenge to emphasize total movement.

Initial licenses were limited to 300, but demand quickly soared. Eventually, 624 employees registered, and 543 of those employees actively participated. Team members tracked activities from walking and running to Pilates and stair climbing.

Global Engagement

Internal chats and photo-sharing flourished, particularly on weekends. Employees shared their walks, runs, and wellness wins on Viva Engage as well. Qualifacts leadership also recognized the initiative's high impact and CFO, Jeremy Landa, served as the Executive Sponsor.

Lessons & Future Plans

Shauna and Lynn agreed the experience exceeded expectations. Key learnings included:

  • Clarify incentives early to avoid unintended engagement
  • Improve access to backend reports segmented by country or department
  • Enhance user interface for team-based leaderboard visibility

Following the strong feedback, Qualifacts plans to repeat the challenge, potentially twice per year to accommodate global seasonality differences.

Final Thoughts

The YuMuuv "Get Moving" challenge not only brought together a global team but also helped foster sustainable wellness habits across Qualifacts. As Lynn summed it up: "It wasn’t about steps or miles. It was about movement and what sticks with you after the challenge ends."

For a first-time effort, it was a resounding success—and just the beginning of a more engaged, healthier workplace.
