The short answer

Both run team activity challenges for companies. paceUP! is a Swedish app that scores workouts recorded by phone GPS, by hand or from Garmin, and sets up each challenge for you; YuMuuv syncs most watches, adds habit challenges and includes teams at every size, in 50 languages.

Choose YuMuuv if you…

  • want steps and workouts to sync from Apple Health, Health Connect, Google Health (Fitbit), Garmin, Polar or Suunto
  • want team challenges at any size without a price jump
  • have people in many countries: the app runs in 50 languages
  • need single sign-on and a SOC 2 Type II report for IT and security approval

paceUP! may suit you better if you…

  • run one challenge for a single group of up to 50 people and want the lowest price
  • want charity challenges where points turn into donations
  • want on-site extras such as a kick-off, a health lecture or medals

Four differences that matter

  • Syncs the watches people use

YuMuuv connects directly to Apple Health, Health Connect, Google Health (Fitbit), Garmin, Polar and Suunto, so steps and workouts sync from most watches. paceUP! records workouts with phone GPS, by hand or from Garmin, and we found no Apple Health or Health Connect sync.

  • Teams without a price jump

YuMuuv includes team challenges at every size: a month for 25 people costs $800. paceUP!’s €495 package covers one group of up to 50; with 2 to 10 teams it costs €2,450, about $2,745, per 30 days.

  • Rated higher by users

YuMuuv is #1 for satisfaction and ease of use in G2’s Corporate Wellness category and has 4.8 from 1,500+ US App Store ratings. paceUP! scores 3.8 from 62 ratings in its home market, Sweden, and 3.7 on Google Play in the US.

  • 50 languages vs 5

YuMuuv runs in 50 languages, so global teams can join in their own language. paceUP! offers its app and materials in Swedish, English, German, French and Finnish, and its App Store listing shows English only.
