The short answer

Both run team challenges with virtual maps. DistantRace is a low-cost, self-serve platform built for distance and step races with GPS; YuMuuv adds habit challenges, 50 languages, single sign-on and a SOC 2 Type II report in every plan.

Choose YuMuuv if you…

  • want habit challenges such as sleep, water or mindfulness alongside activity
  • need single sign-on and a SOC 2 Type II report without an enterprise contract
  • have people in many countries: the app runs in 50 languages
  • want a configuration call and planning help included

DistantRace may suit you better if you…

  • want the lowest price for a small or mid-sized team
  • want GPS races and routes drawn on a real map
  • also run public races with paid registration and timing

Four differences that matter

  • Habits as well as activity

YuMuuv runs habit challenges such as sleep, water and mindfulness next to 14 synced activities. We found no habit tracking in DistantRace.

  • SSO and SOC 2 Type II included

Every YuMuuv plan includes single sign-on (SAML, OIDC), and YuMuuv holds a SOC 2 Type II report. At DistantRace, SAML single sign-on comes with its custom-priced white-label setup, and SOC 2 is in progress.

  • 50 languages vs 16

YuMuuv runs in 50 languages, so global teams can join in their own language. DistantRace's app runs in 16.

  • Set up with you

Every YuMuuv plan includes a configuration call and planning help. DistantRace's Starter plan is self-serve; assisted setup comes with its higher plans.
