The short answer
Both run step and activity challenges for companies. WellChallenge, from Sweden's Wellstep, sells single challenges with virtual routes at €10 per participant; YuMuuv adds automatic workout sync, habit challenges, single sign-on and 50 languages.
Choose YuMuuv if you…
- have people in many countries: the app runs in 50 languages
- need single sign-on and a SOC 2 Type II report for IT and security approval
- want cycling, swimming and other workouts to sync automatically, plus habit challenges
- have 500 people or more: a one-month challenge for 500 costs $3,700
WellChallenge may suit you better if you…
- want the lowest price for one challenge with a small or mid-sized group
- want teams to walk a virtual route with milestones, or a custom route of your own
- want bonus health tasks, joint activities and daily team quests built into the challenge
Four differences that matter
-
50 languages vs English
YuMuuv runs in 50 languages, so global teams can join in their own language. We found WellChallenge only in English, on its website and in its App Store listing.
-
SSO and SOC 2 Type II
YuMuuv includes single sign-on (SAML, OIDC) and holds a SOC 2 Type II report. Both keep data in the EU, but we found no single sign-on or security certification for WellChallenge.
-
Workouts sync automatically
YuMuuv syncs 14 activities, such as cycling, swimming and yoga, from phones and wearables, and runs habit challenges. In WellChallenge, steps sync, while other activities are typed in as minutes.
-
Cheaper for big groups
A month for 500 people costs $3,700 at YuMuuv, because its price per person falls as groups grow. WellChallenge charges €10 per participant, so 500 people pay €5,000 (about $5,603); small groups pay less than at YuMuuv.
